To start, we&#8217;re thrilled to have Hilary Grossman, author of\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/dangledcarat.com\" target=\"_blank\">Dangled Carat<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;<\/em>\u00a0a memoir about\u00a0(finally) turning\u00a0Mr. Commitmentphobe into Mr. Right.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-440\" src=\"https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Dangled-Carat-Hilary-Grossman-192x300.jpg\" alt=\"Dangled-Carat-Hilary-Grossman\" width=\"127\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Dangled-Carat-Hilary-Grossman-192x300.jpg 192w, https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Dangled-Carat-Hilary-Grossman-100x155.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Dangled-Carat-Hilary-Grossman.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 127px) 100vw, 127px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0If I could go back in time and change it, I would&#8230; But unfortunately I can\u2019t. \u00a0It was way too long ago. \u00a0Thirty-six years ago to be exact.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He hurt me. \u00a0He made me sad. \u00a0And I let him ruin my day&#8230;. \u00a0A day that I would never get to experience again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As soon as she laid eyes on me, my mom knew something was wrong. \u00a0She saw it on my face. \u00a0Even though I was always stubborn, and kept my feelings bottled up, my face always let me down, revealing what was truly in my heart.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Knowing that she wouldn\u2019t get a straight answer from me, nervously, my mom went over to the teacher to ask how I did. \u00a0 Not pulling any punches, the kindergarden teacher who had a terrible reputation in the town, \u00a0told my mom how I didn\u2019t talk to anyone the entire time, how I wouldn\u2019t play with any of the other children, and when she tried to comfort me I fled. \u00a0She questioned my mom if I had anything against her.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The entire summer my mom worried. What made me so upset, she wondered. \u00a0Would the teacher have an \u201cin\u201d for me when school started in September based upon my reaction during orientation?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-442 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/goodfunINSTAdf-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"goodfunINSTAdf\" width=\"206\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/goodfunINSTAdf-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/goodfunINSTAdf-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/goodfunINSTAdf-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.doorflower.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/goodfunINSTAdf.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 206px) 100vw, 206px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally after being questioned for the thousandth time I admitted what happened. \u00a0My friend Danny from down the block and I arrived at school together. \u00a0As we walked in I wanted to hold his hand. \u00a0He didn\u2019t let me&#8230;.. \u00a0I was so upset. \u00a0And that is why my kindergarden orientation was ruined!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My mom listened as I cried. \u00a0She dried my tears with her fingers. \u00a0And then she told me, \u201cBoys and men will disappoint you and maybe even hurt you. But they may not even understand or realize. We look at things differently, I\u2019m sure that Danny never meant to make you so upset. \u00a0But if you are upset you have to express it. You can\u2019t keep it bottled up.
